I went a little too far of course, I should have stayed away but no
I had to tempt the edge I thought I’d only go so far and then
I crossed the line I fell from grace, high up the vertigo set in
Haunted by Your familiar face I saw the rocks below me

I found solace in this empty space when I started to fall

Where can I go to fall from grace
A hiding place
Where can I flee where You can’t find me
Where I can be alone

I had to take control I said I’d only pick up the pieces that had fallen
I said I’d only go so far and then I’d lay it all down again
Pay no attention to this man behind the wheel of my life
I tried to lay it down and then I found it had a hold on me

I found solace in this pilot’s seat when I started to fall

If I go up to the heavens, You are there
If I make my bed in the depths, You are there
If I ride on the wings of the dawn
If I fly across the sea
Even there, You pursue me

I tried to run, I tried to flee, I called the darkness to hide me
But even there You sought me out, You made my night to shine like day
You said, “You do not even know how little worthy you are of any love
You know you cannot outrun Me, who will you find to love you, save only Me”

I found solace in this warm embrace and I rose to my feet
