Following A Star – The Aisle
A wedding day, a joyous day, and the feast is being prepared
But all’s not happy as it seems
The church bells ring, the choir sings
And the bride is lost in dreams
You can see so many faces when you look inside her veil
From the top it’s torn in two
Her dress is tattered, no more than rags
And she knows that all the rumors are true
And as she walks down the aisle, she’s still burning up inside
Not satisfied with the only One who can ever give her peace
He sees it all, it wounds His heart, but still she is His bride
Bought with a price, and so they walk down the aisle
When you look into His face, you can see the tears of joy
But they’re also tears of grief
Because He knows who she is, but stays
‘Cause He knows who she will be
Now they’ve been walking down that aisle for two thousand years and more
Still waiting for the feast to come
And so they’ll walk on until
Her pilgrimage is done
Then as she walks down the aisle, there’s no more burning up inside
She’s satisfied with the One with whom she’ll soon forever feast
He is her all, her soul, her heart, and still she is His bride
Bought with a price, and so they walk down the aisle
